Context
In the summer of 2019, I interned in Bangalore, India at the Infosys headquarter as an international intern. I was part of one of the UX teams where I collaborated with Infosys clients from Germany and got a chance to work with Infosys UX director, 2 senior UX designers, and several other designers. Our team worked on building a tablet app version of the client’s PC website version. App where users were able to order the needed parts, chat with customer service and track their orders. Created new card layout design for the tablet dashboard to make it easy for user to interact with the app.
Outcome
Conducted and analyzed multiple user tests to gather customer feedback and iterate designs.
Created new end-to-end dashboard design for tablet user after analyzing web version dashboard that made it easy for users to order parts and tracking deliveries.
Finalized design for new card layout that helps users to see the information on the home page.
Tablet Dashboard made it easy for users to find needed resources easier. In the of my internship handed off designs to developers.
I reached the stretch goal of creating designs for tablet web mockups.
Learning Takeaways
My internship at Infosys is truly a precious journey filled with new experiences, challenges, meeting new people, and learning. Here are some key takeaways from the internship:
Never be scared to ask questions: I learned that asking questions is not a sign of weakness. Instead, it is the fastest way to learn new things and grow
Create the “win-win” collaboration: I learned to efficiently collaborate with others by being mindful about their goals and think about what I can do to help them achieve that goal through our collaboration
Don’t be afraid to think out of the box: Though following rules and the old way of doing things is important, but it is also important to think out of the box to create something new and different.
